Path of Exile trades are completed face-to-face inside hideouts. To ensure your account is protected during these exchanges:
- Place an Item in the Trade Window: Do not accept currency stacks for nothing. Place a junk rare or unique item (a ring, amulet, or weapon) in the trade interface. This replicates a normal barter trade.
- Hover to Count Stacks: PoE requires you to hover over every item in the trade window. Don't rush. Confirm that the seller has put the correct amount of Divine or Chaos Orbs in the window before clicking accept.
- Maintain Chat Silence: Keep all discussions out of PoE's in-game chat log. GGG monitors chat keywords. Use the marketplace chat dashboard to coordinate.
